Troubleshooting

YouTube Vanced and Vanced Manager are enhanced versions of the standard YouTube app for Android, offering features like ad-blocking, background playback, and more.

However, users may encounter certain issues while using these applications.

Here’s a simple guide on common errors and how to fix them:

1. Installation Errors in Vanced Manager:

  • Ensure you have the latest Vanced Manager installed.
  • For rooted devices, use the Magisk icon in Vanced Manager to grant root permissions.
  • Non-rooted users should follow the specific installation guide for their device type.
  • If installation fails, clear the Vanced Manager’s cache and data, or reinstall the app.

2. Login Issues:

  • Make sure MicroG (necessary for Google account login) is installed and updated.
  • Clear cache and data for both YouTube Vanced and MicroG, or try reinstalling MicroG.

3. Video Playback Errors:

  • For lagging videos or crashes during live streams, enable VP9 codec from the codec override in Vanced Settings.
  • If the app crashes while buying items, it’s likely due to MicroG. Use the original YouTube app for purchases.
  • If casting doesn’t work, note that Vanced won’t block ads when casting, as the device acts more like a remote controller.

4. App Crashing on Launch:

  • Ensure you have the latest version of YouTube Vanced.
  • Clear the app’s cache and data, or consider reinstalling it.

5. Making YouTube Vanced Default App:

  • For rooted devices, YouTube Vanced automatically replaces the stock YouTube app.
  • Non-root users should follow device-specific instructions to set Vanced as the default app for YouTube links.

6. General Troubleshooting Tips:

  • Regularly update the app through Vanced Manager.
  • Check device compatibility and ensure all necessary permissions are granted.

These steps should help resolve most issues with YouTube Vanced and Vanced Manager.

Always download these apps from trusted sources, and be aware that they are not official YouTube products.
